Gas gauge problem.
Now I may this take it to the dealer to get this fixed but I know it's a easy fix thorw + the dealer is a very far drive.. Now this is what's goin on my gas gauge would go dead flat and wouldn't work but if I hit a bump on the road most of the time it would fix it but if I shut it off and then turn it back on it would go dead flat again. Now I think it's a ground because I looked inthe tank and nothing pop off and the float is working find? So yeah can someone help me with this small problem.

well, I'll take a guess here..
supermach, you never said what year your bike is...
but I'm gonna guess that wire to your fuel level sending unit could be pinched.
Tip up your seat & look to see a thick black wire leading to a big round circle behind your gas cap.
follow that wire. there should be a small tab of ,metal that holds that wire down flat to the body. That tab is held in place with a bolt.
Most tabs are bent slightly to allow the wire to pass thu un-impinged.
grab that wire on both sides of the hold down tab & wiggle to see if the wire is free to move back and forth under the tab.
my guess is that when you hit a bump... your ass bounces on the seat pinching and unpinching that wire under that tab
If the wire is mashed under that tab.. then loosen the bolt.. take it out and stack a few washers under the tab to act as a spacer to no longer smash the wire...
Just a guess!
write back & let us know if the wire is smashed in any way.
Good luck

I don't think anyone has an accurate gas gauge. Scooters didn't use to come with them which is why you had the reserve tank. As you were riding along, the engine would die and you would quickly switch the fuel cock to reserve under your seat and she would fire back up. That would give you about 20 miles to find a gas station. I still use that method on occasion but most often I just fill up once I've got 100 miles on the odometer......it's a bit safer than messing with the fuel cock at 35mph.

I actually find the gas gauge on the 4T to be annoying. I'd actually prefer an old school speedo without it. If it's on there it should work great, if it doesn't work great, what good is it? Is there an old speedo that would fit in it's place?
Nothing wrong with that old system described in the post above. When you run out of gas, go get some gas!

With the Stella 4T 100 miles is pretty much the absolute range unless you are riding it very gently.Keith wrote: I still use that method on occasion but most often I just fill up once I've got 100 miles on the odometer......it's a bit safer than messing with the fuel cock at 35mph.
I try to fill up at about 80 miles.
