Legshield Protector Installation

Hey guys, after learning my lesson about crashing the stella, I decided to get my scooter some protection

I bought the cowl protectors and the legshield protectors, but I was wondering about the legshield protector installation. Is this something that I can do without drilling holes? I put it up to my scooter, and didn't see where it would screw into. Does anyone have any pictures of their installation?

good question I have them on. no holes drilled. just strategic bits of rubber... you will see what I mean.
I will post pics this weekend I hope.
but like most chorme trim there might be some gentle bending or unbending of the chrome to perfectly match your angles on your ride.
- you will know when you get it.

also I paid my dealer to install the chrome for me and i will NEVER do it again- it cost me over 300$! I was just trying to throw them a bone since I like them but had I known the cost I would have done it myself.

That would be awesome.

I was thinking about it, and rubber seems to be the best approach. I didn't want to tighten the screws in to the paint, and that seemed to be the best option.

I too, drilled NO holes and also used bits of rubber to the paint.
I also had to bend one bit of the upper mount on the throttle side to get a fit.
Also I used blue lock-tite on the screws so I didn't have to tighten then so hard to tear my rubbers..

great idea - the rubber did get torn using my way- the photos should show it.

One question about the Cowl Protectors I purchased. I got these guys:

I tried getting them on and had nothing but issues. First off, the screw on the foot rest broke almost instantly. The part is actually bent (one side is visibly bent in the back, and the other side actually rubs against the cowl). Also, the holes on the back piece do not match the holes for the license plate, so I can't mount the back. Is this common, or do I just have horrible luck with things?

What year is your bike??
On my 08 I had to drill holes in the rear fender for the bracket to bolt up to..
on my 2010 I did NOT. They lined up just fine..
I would call Genuine parts and bitch up a fit.
My friend did that about his bent and lame legshield protectors,
and they sent him new ones.
He sent the first ones back..
Every-1 is happy!
Try it..
You paid for them... call up and fuss..

Tryed for 2 hours and anothing fits good, the metal is really cheap shouldn't be over $100.00 + at best i'm not even goin to use this on my scooter because of how much of a piece it is.

+ now I have to take it to the body shop because of the cheaped paint that it did to my scooter. Thanks

I say again to make the phone call and have them correct your faulty parts...
