Genuine Scooter Rally

Post by badbodhisattva »

Last weekend in Atlanta, Genuine hosted a rally for us. It was my first rally, first time meeting scooter people and only the second time I've had a chance to ride in the city. I was shaking like a leaf most of the time and had very little chance to record when we reached our destination. I also had some nice encounters with our host, the CEO of Genuine Scooters. He's my hero. The South had nothing to teach him about hospitality!

I'm new to the video cam, too, but I did get some good footage. I just have the camera hanging around my neck. Works fairly well for the time being.

BTW, my dealer has the new two-tone Stellas, and they look fantastic.

Looks like it was a great day! Nice turnout. And yes indeed, Phil is certainly a fine and generous host! (Thanks again for LA Phil) Glad you all had a fun time!

Great video! We had a ton of fun on our Genuine ride in LA, so I encourage others to go check theirs out.

where do the rallies even get announced at? I'd love to show up to a genuine one if it were within reasonable distance, although my Stella practically only has the original LML frame

There's a link on genuinescooters.com-- "Let's Ride 2012." It was a nice long ride and thrilling for a newbie like me. I was so excited and addled though I forgot to ask all the Stella riders all the things I wanted to... things like, do you often hallucinate the sound of your turn signal going off while you're cruising? Sometimes I think I hear it even when I'm not riding.

Loved the video! That looks like so much fun. I envy you guys.

I saw the turnoff to the Fernbank and recognized the bank tower but that was about it.

The route looked good. There must be gobs of miles of good riding in ATL.

Enjoy and stay safe.

ask and you shall revieve!

from the Genuine website
here is a direct quote:
"Richmond, Virginia - Sunday, June 10th
Celebrate with Genuine Scooter Company and the #1 Scooter Dork, Philip McCaleb. Ride leaves at 11:30 a.m. from Scoot Richmond and join us for lunch afterwards! Genuine Riders ONLY!"

it couldn't be in a better place for you Lokky from Richmond, Virginia!

I am still checking back frequently to see when the colorado ride is.

Richmond is a bit of a haul for me...I wonder if that is going to be the closest one? I was hoping maybe for one in Philly or Baltimore...
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?
