Stella Headlight flicker issue - Fixed

Ok....
My headlight on my 2008 Stella has developed a problem.
It sometimes flickers & it usually happens when changing gears.
Occasionally it is off when in 2nd gear (then back on when I switch to 3rd)
I assume this means I have some wiring issues in the head unit & it involves the hi beam switch since that is on the shifter grip.

Anyone else had this issue & an advice about taking apart the head unit?

Any help is appreciated!

This is a common problem caused by the shifting action wearing the cable out and eventually shorting it in specific gears.

On mine we tried making extra space in there with a dremel but the issue resurfaced so we drilled a hole in the headset near the instrument cluster and added a switch up there.

I just opened it up & it was just a loose screw on the headlight switch.
Quick fix - glad I found it before the screw came all the way off.

Good catch!. Same issue on mine. Mine would go out in third gear only on high beam

I put a dab of loctite on mine when I tightened them down.

I am now going to check mine, cuz have had same issue, tho I usually only ride during daylight with HIGH beam on for visibility. On these scooters, the vibrations cause every possible nut, bolt, and screw to come loose at some point. My last one was a battery connection of all things !!
