The Stellas are analogous to Vespas 1970s-80s P-series (with some upgrades.) Aside from the brakes, suspension, and exhaust, they're very interchangeable, probably 90% or more, and even those parts could technically be replaced with simpler old Vespa parts.
OLD Vespa parts are cake to get, there are dozens of good shops all around the US and world with huge stockpiles, and many companies make replacement parts, it's probably easier than finding parts for a popular american muscle car. There's tuning and upgrades available, and lots of customization options. Finding Stella parts is cake.
Getting original Piaggio OEM parts is sometimes more difficult, and some of the replacement parts may not be of the same quality as the originals, but they're out there. It's actually easier to get Piaggio OEM parts from a third party or overseas than to work through Piaggio USA and most of their dealers.
It's the *modern* Vespa parts (ET4, LX, GT, GTS, etc) that are sometimes hard to find, because only Piaggio distributes them and PiaggioUSA is bad about supplying them to dealers. Again, a lot of that stuff is easier to find overseas than to wait for a dealer to get it through the "official" channels. But for vintage P-series and Stellas, there's virtually nothing that's not a Fed Ex away, and it's all reasonably priced, especially compared to cars and motorcycles.
