Stella Front Fender Guard?

Post by quen047 »

Hi all, I just purchased a new Stella that I haven't picked up from the dealer yet. I'm waiting for them to install Cuppini cowl protectors/passenger footpegs and a rear rack, but I was also thinking about adding a fender guard. Any thoughts on how necessary they are? I prefer the clean stock look, but I don't want a dented-up fender either, and I live in SF so it will be a high-traffic urban environment. Any guidance will be appreciated!

Well crash bars do help if you down the bike from a scuffed cowl and They look *awsome*! but the front bumper guard is mainly for show. If you crash you're gonna get a dent no if, ands, or buts, unless it's a really minor tap. This is just my opinion tho.
P.S. Who dosn't like bling? Eye catching shiny, shiny! [drools in front of the computer]...

Thanks for that. I do like a little bit of chrome-y bling, but the rear rack and cowl protectors are enough for me I think. I would only do a bumper guard if it had some practical value.

Crash bars can do more harm than good. When your scooter is bouncing down the road on its side a lot if the impact is absorbed by the side panels.
The crash bars don't absorb the impact and often cause the frame of your scooter to bend which means your scoot will be written off.

True... But most of the time over here if you get in an accident or down the bike and file a claim the insurance company writes it off anyways. I've seen downed scoots that had minimal damage yet end up as salvage titled...
