Based on a comment from user listless, I realize i'm not the only person PATIENTLY awaiting the next wave of 4t Stella deliveries...
I was thinking we could start a new thread about what we are hearing for our respective dealers...
This is not a bash session, its information gathering
Me first- I bought and paid for my Avocado Stella in March.
As of friday, July 22nd according to my dealer "The Stellas are in the states, awaiting distribution any day now."

I put my deposit down on a creme 4T in March and was told today that they are expected by the end of July. I was second on the list the first time but they only received one creme in the first shipment, so the next creme one is mine. I'm hoping they also honor the Prima lock and cover promo offered by Progressive.

I have relayed my story in a few threads but my deposit was made in late March expecting early April delivery.
Last update I received was on Wednesday July 13 when the scooters were reportedly in U.S. Customs in Chicago. I like to wait two weeks in between instances of bothering my dealer (it's just about time.)
I'm glad Genuine took care of California first (since they couldn't get the 2-stroke all those years) but I'd have my scooter by now if I lived in Manila in the Philippines -- so it is hard not to feel a tiny bit left out.
My 2 year warranty will last me through much of my 3rd riding season. At least that is a positive thing.

Just got a call from the dealer; looks like by this time next week I'll be the proud owner of a Creme Stella 4T. I think I'll order my chrome now so I'll have it ready to go.
Question, the folks at Scooterwest recommended this chrome package which is made for a Vespa yet fits the Stella 4t. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of foot pegs; can foot pegs be added to this set? Also, does anyone know anything about this set, is it well made?

Congrats Mulliganal! We've kinda been waiting together on the MB for quite some time.
I have amassed all my chrome bits on ebay and scoot.net but unfortunately my sidecar assembly/setup time and inopportunely timed vacation will now keep my Stella out of reach until late August.
And I so wanted to rent a Vespa for a day in San Francisco while on vacation, I have my motorcycle license but ZERO street experience I don't think I'll have the confidence to do so.

Good luck with your Stella listless; can't wait to see some photos of your Stella with a sidecar. Which sidecar do you have coming and do they paint it to match your Stella or do you have to get that done yourself?

It does not seem that there is enough interest in these bikes apart from a core enthusiast group.
WOOHOO, my wife and I went for our late night walk and we passed by the scooter place this evening and looked in the window to see her sitting there lookin' beautiful and all - MY CREME STELLA 4T
They got in four Stella's if I counted correctly (it was dark in there) and all were creme; I guess creme is a hot color in Atlanta. I'm also going to call Scooterworks tomorrow and purchase all my chrome and bling stuff. I'm guessing the owner didn't call me until it was ready to be picked up because he knows I'd be a PITA.

Lucky! All I see in Arizona are Blue and Avocado. Not that either are bad. I just wish they made a black again

Naaaa, I called today and the manager said he was cleaning and adjusting the carb, taking the plastic off the body and will be giving it a good cleaning and wax job before he give me the call. He said they come over from India with a lot of dirt and grime on them so he wanted to make sure it was perfect before I come to pick it up; he knows I'm very picky so I appreciate him taking the time to make sure it's right.
I just feel good knowing that it's here and will be mine in a day or two. I'll be taking some photos for sure when I bring her home and will share my first ride adventures.

I'm at wits end and have no idea what to do now... Here I had visions of scooting carefree all sumer long and summer is over...

I had the Vespa PX chrome kit on my first Stella 4T. I very much liked the lack of footpegs! They get in the way, will constantly catch your legs, pants, whatever. Quite well made. Aesthetically, I prefer these cowl protectors to the Prima/Genuine ones.

I agree about the foot pegs, but you can just do what I did with my Prima/Genuine cowl protectors: take the damn pegs off! They are a completely separate assembly that the absence of in no way affects the utility of the bars.
I'll hang onto them and put them back on if I'm contemplating a long ride with a pillion passenger. It takes all of two or three minutes to install or remove them. Just two knobs to unscrew and rescrew.

That was my thought also. I purchased them for the times when my wife is with me, but I like the option of being able to remove them in seconds when she's not.

I guess the most frustrating thing is hearing that "mine is next" from the dealer, yet they just posted pics of a sold red one on their facebook.
I'm not faulting the dealer, but jeeze we live 3 hours from Genuine Headquarters... i'm about to take a road trip... lol
Well… It's not like there's a giant warehouse full of Stellas in Chicago (or anywhere else). They get ordered, they get shipped to the US, they go through Customs then they get distributed to dealers. Thing is, orders are supposed to be placed in advance and it's not an "order on demand" type of system because they need to be built and ready to ship from India in advance. There's not a constant stream of scooters coming over, a few at a time, as they're ordered.

I myself just got tired of waiting, especially when the funds for the bike finally got released and I need an extra set of wheels ASAP. It's a cool bike to be sure, but they sure are taking a while getting it out on the streets

I do the opposite, I find that they get in the way of my cupcake's legs and aren't quite distanced from the crashbars enough to provide good support so if she's riding they'll be off so she can use the very generous floorboard.
I put them on for long rides to give myself an extra position in which to keep my legs when they start getting tired
Regarding availability of the 4T stella, my dealer got two of them in march, then never saw a new one for months.
Now that summer is over they are stuck with a lot of them, they have all colors in the showroom and I suspect quite a few in the back.

Man, I was just going to ask how folks deal with their passengers and the foot peg situation. My wife is a bit short and the Genuine pegs were just not at all comfortable for her on our first ride so she kept putting her feet on the sides of my cowl protectors, no no no no. I'm just going to take the foot pegs off and see if she can reach the floorboards. I've also ordered a cowl bra to prevent her from scratching up the sides of my Stella.

I've got some chrome on order, some graphics in mind and a few other tricks up my sleeve. For now though, i'm just going to enjoy her till the weather goes cold.
WARNING! Do not use your new Stella to run errands involving frozen food. All frozen food will arrive back home fully thawed out, given there is no known straight route from any store to home on a Stella.

I picked mine up just before labor day weekend and I've made it up to 240 miles so far. Trying to knock out at least 400 miles so I can take it back to get the first service (dealer said 400 miles is okay even if a bit early) and the sidecar installed.
Here's my scooter with the main reason I am getting a sidecar...

Sweet, where did you get your backrack? I know you're little girl is really going to enjoy that sidecar; I was even thinking about getting a sidecar for my big girl (wife).

The rear rack is a rather hard-to-find Vespa BBQ rack that I found on scoot.net and it installed without modification or drilling -- I just needed to get the extra long check-pin from scooterworks. It is nice and roomy -- I've already used it to transport 2 12' Fiat tires and rims to the tire place. The extra supports probably likely boost the weight limit considerably.
I wanted this rack because the backrest slides forward for use by the driver or back for use by the passenger. It tightens quickly with some wingnuts, but I already forgot to tighten them enough once and lost the hardware. I got new bolts and wingnuts but I need to figure out the little spacer/washer-thing that was there so I can slide it forward and lock it in place again.
I'm about to post a plea on modernvespa for photos of what the spacers look like -- I didn't have them in my possession long enough to remember what they looked like.

I just found this post of yours regarding the BBQ rack. I just got one of these racks and I had been told that I'd have to drill a few holes to make it work, but....you said you installed yours without drilling or modification, so I am curious how you made this work. It looks like mine will bolt right up as far as the bracket that mounts on top of the gas tank, but the bracket that attaches to the rear fender definitely has holes where there are no holes in my rear fender. Can you give me some insight as to how you mounted yours without drilling?

You see it mounted here between the taillight and the license plate. I'm pretty sure the holes were there -- I always assumed for those in countries with "taller" plates.

You did exactly what I was hoping you did! I do have that bracket, mine just doesn't have those holes in it, so I'll have to drill the holes in the bracket myself. So glad I don't have to do any drilling on the Stella though! Thanks for this, you made my day!
