Here we go....

For break in I would suggest using dino. Following breakin a good synthetic made for injectors. The main trick is to pick an oil and stick with it instead of changing brands each time.

My personal preferences are Motul for kitted scooters and Klotz for stock or near stock.

Mineral oil when you are running in and then semi-synth or good quality mineral oil after that.

There really isn't any point in splashing out on expensive fully synth 2 stroke oil as our vespa/Stella engines are so primitive. It coul even be detrimental.

This is an interesting read,

My stella has only had the Ipone synth blend from scooterworks
Thats what it came with from the dealer so I stuck to it.
I havent had any oil related problems so I am happy with it.
You are either going to have a big problem or none right?

FYI - its the strawberry scented... & while it does smell like strawberries, I dont think the exhaust does.
But.... I also use it in my weed wacker (just because its on the shelf) & the exhaust from my weed wacker does in fact smell a little like strawberries.
