Low smoke on 2T oil

Post by ankdworak »

I use Amsoil Intimidator 2T engine oil on my 08 Stella. I do not get very much smoke with this oil. I'm pretty sure I'm rich enough on the mixture as my plug looks good and I also have a liitle black residue that occasionally drips from my rear mudflap where the exhaust hits. Does anyone else use the Amsoil 2T oil and experience low smoke?

I use motul 710 and I barely see any smoke unless the bike had been sitting a few days.

I've used the Draggons oil Scooterworks sells and my bike smells like cookies.

Don't think it was visibly smoking either.

Jetting doesn't change the volume of oil the injector delivers. Modern 2T oils are designed to smoke less, That being said firing up my 5% GS or SS using Klotz sends up a beautiful blue mushroom cloud!

I am a firm believer that a Constitutional Amendment needs to be passed outlawing the use, manufacturing, sale and possession of scented 2T oil!

I use motul 510 and I rarely see any smoke at all other than just a bit at startup.

^^^ what if it were bacon scented?!? LOL

Yeah, I run spectro scooter oil and it barely smokes as well. Most of the high-end Euro spec injector oils are designed to be "smokeless" for the European market as they can be VERY picky in some countries about produced smoke.

Klotz TechniPlate TC-W3

Post by RobertN »

I just started using Klotz TechiPlate TC-W3 (stock # KL-302) and it has very low smoke. Maybe a little haze when I first start the scoot cold, but then no smoke. I was running BelRay Si7 which is a great 2T oil, but I never could get used to the smell...I just didn't like it.

I had to take my gas and oil tank out to troubleshoot and fix a small oil leak and while I had the tank out I cleaned it and decided to go from BelRay blue to Klotz red. The Klotz has more of a normal organic oil smell. You can buy it for about $15 per quart with shipping.
