Osram night breaker H4 Will it work in the stella??

Post by psssniper »

I am not an expert by any means so maybe someone who knows this stuff can answer. I'd love to be able to see at night and am searching for a solution.

Will the Osram with its wattage of 60/55 be a problem seeing as its replacing a 35/35?

Is the reflector going to melt?

thanks for the help

Piaa makes a 35/35 that is quite bright, I think a 55 is pushing a pretty small charging system.

One of our members has just fitted one of these with dramatic results. I am waiting to see if it melts his headlight/wiring/regulator before I take the plunge and fit one myself.

I believe 55w on a stock Stella, is just beyond what the scoot is capable of.
Have you measured voltage drop at the headlamp bulb? That greatly affects brightness. If you run a 12v bulb at 11v, it's dimmer.

I have full DC. Want to go to a UK headlamp switch and separate wiring and relay just for headlamp. I think this is the way to go. Addressing wiring and voltage issues to get best lighting. Once I have a runnin scoot......
