I am going to do an oil change, decided to get 20w50 after a little confusion reading the service manual stating that it should be 20w40. Is this wrong?
Think I will just get Castrol Conventional.

I am assuming your Stella is a manual transmission.srbbnd wrote:I am going to do an oil change, decided to get 20w50 after a little confusion reading the service manual stating that it should be 20w40. Is this wrong?

In this case, you would be best using a motorcycle specific oil which is configured to operate in a 'unitized' environment.......meaning, a oil designed to lubricate the engine/transmission/ and wet clutch.
Automotive oils are engine specific with no additives to slow the shearing effects of a transmission and no additives for clutch disc compatability.
With that in mind, these type specific oils are found at motorcycle dealers, such as Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha.
Hondas version is called 'GN4', Yamaha is 'Yamalube'.......each has their version.
If you are into synthetics, Golden Spectro for unitized designs is a favorite.
All are available as 20w40 or 20w50.
