We do a lot of Stella rebuilds. I use this as an example all the time. When a Stella 2T has to come apart for some reason. If you replace all the bearing with good quality ones, and use a Mazz crank; she will run for years.
There are many stellas out there with stock parts that go a long ways, but IF you have to ever rebuild one. This is a good example of why to use "the good stuff"

I change the oil every 1000, filter every 2000. With Amsoil. I'm hoping to hit 10K before the warranty runs out. I figure if it doesn't blow by then, I'm OK.

Improved 4T crankshaft bearings required some digging to source.
The originals are made by SKF India and measure 25mm x 68mm x 12mm (inner diameter, outer diameter, thickness). For comparison, the clutch side bearing in most of the largeframe Piaggio motors and 2T Stella motors measures 25mm x 62mm x 12mm.
The Italjet Dragster 125/180, Gilera Runner 125/180 and the pre-LEADER Vespa ET4 125 use the same bearing as the 4T Stella. NTN Japan builds it; the part code is SCO5B31CS37.
Can't speak on the big end bearing yet. Will likely need to press a crank apart to measure that and find a replacement.

At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...
Seriously...I've lost count...
Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...
