4T Stella with sidecar...
I got the chance to take this out yesterday to wow the locals, before I reported back on the fine tuning of the the sidecar installation. Happy to report this might be one of the coolest rigs I have ever driven. The 4t Stella does an ample job of pulling around 335 pounds of human cargo, with enough mid range power to pull us up the steepest inclines Mission Hills could challenge us with. The crew at Vespa Motorsport in San Diego did their usual awesome job of putting this one together!

I've always loved the look of the Stella with sidecar. Luckily it's expensive enough that I'm not likely to purchase it on impulse
I don't know if I could get used to the whole not leaning to turn thing, although the 4T version may make a nice winter scoot.

Beautiful!
Beautiful! That is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
Now to pay off my slate blue 4T (still awaiting delivery) so I can charge up the credit card for the sidecar.

Yes... a color matched seat would be the way to go. However, the customer felt he had spent enough, and would address that minor nuance later after he figured out how to ride the thing! These sidecars are no easy rig to drive... a radical departure from standard two wheel cruising, to be sure! But still, a complete blast!!

There is the voice of truth. Yes, sidecars are beautiful to look at. Yes, they are fun to ride. No, they are not anything like riding a conventional PTW. You steer with your arms and shoulders - and by sliding your fanny back and forth to shift your weight. Cornering is a new and very different experience. Braking is a whole new thrill. Actually riding a sidecar is an acquired skill - and an acquired taste. Not for everyone.Steady Teddy wrote:........ after he figured out how to ride the thing! Does it make the scooter sluggish?Dooglas wrote:There is the voice of truth. Yes, sidecars are beautiful to look at. Yes, they are fun to ride. Well, sure. Especially when we are talking a 150. The sidecar adds a couple hundred pounds and a hack monkey adds a couple hundred more (give or take - dogs are a lot lighterMulliganal wrote:Does it make the scooter sluggish?

Well, you're not that far off. Wagner's in Bonnerdale, Arkansas is a highly thought of Ural Dealer.laxer wrote:Man, I want a Ural so much! But there's not even a dealer in my state!

What part of the Rocky Mountains are you in? no need to get too specific- I value your privacy- but it looks like Utah is the only Rocky Mountain state without a Ural dealer.laxer wrote:Man, I want a Ural so much! But there's not even a dealer in my state!
if you are in CO or even WY I highly reccommend this dealer:
http://www.uniqueridesco.com/
http://www.imz-ural.com/dealers/us.htm (look in the middle at Colorado near the WY border)
not only did they sell me my Genuine Stella 4T, and then also (once I get a lot more money, another garage, and a good speech to convince my family I *need* it) my future Ural 2wd sidecar ride which I may or may not have already named "SHENANIGANS".
anyway if you are anywhere nearby I highly suggest stopping by.
and if not (if you do live in Utah) then my imaginition suggests that since you know you want one *possibly* badly enough- you could work the possible sale out over the phone and via email- fly into the Ft Collins, Colorado airport- finalize the Ural sale and then drive it over the Rockys back home to Utah(?) in a real Ural adventure.
anyway if you really are that far away from a Ural dealer I both feel for you and also envy you. feel for you cuz that sucks- but also envy you because I'd be more inclined to enjoy what I had instead of finding myself daydreaming about selling my car and having the ural be my winter backup to the scooter!
