I'm thinking about getting these cowl protectors but

is there any reason these wouldn't fit on a 4T Stella? Also, does anyone have this set; I'm just not sure about the quality.

I have them. Bought them from the same guy, they look great and at least on the 2T there was no drilling. Just a socket and an adjustable wrench. The chrome is nice, I keep the scooter in a garage, so I'm not sure about weather, but they are nice bars. He also had a matching front bumper he gave me a deal on.

I would not buy them, IMHO. Look at the mounts that go onto the footboard. Those thin, stamped steel mounts will be the weakest point where, in a crash, the bars will transfer the force to those mounts and break.

Spend the extra money (~$100 USD)on a more robust cowl guard. Think of how much it will cost to replace or repaint a scooter cowl (get an estimate for painting, dent repair, etc) and make your decision.

I definitely see Mullingal's point, but the truth is in a crash that will do that much damage, the cowl will get messed up anyway, so will the cowl protector and whatever it is attached to. They are good protection for dropping it, getting it knocked over, etc, but if you"crash" the scooter is gonna get messed up. Cost of cowl, plus paint, plus cowl protector. Best bet is, don't crash.

Question, are crash bars any good and do folks actually use them? I have not seen too many scooters with them.

I had them on my Harley and I have them to thank for my legs today. Screw the bike if you're in a real crash, can't buy new legs in a store.

I definitely agree: the chrome cowl bars are for the 'Oops, someone backed into my parked scooter' or 'the pavement under my kickstand melted, and scooter go boom'.

I rechecked my invoice and my chrome cowl guards look like this:

I didnt pay that retail price, but willing to pay more for the thicker chrome and more beefy mounting brackets. I live near the ocean, so thicker chrome takes longer to pit/corode.

Thanks again, I was looking at the set from scooterworks which are $209, but I wonder how much better these are at $299 from scooterwest. They actually look the same as the set from scooterworks.
