Will a seat like this fit a Stella 4T?

Any personal experience with these seats? Also, where were can one be purchaed if it will fit the 4T?

It sure looks nice but I can see there being a problem if you have long legs since there's no room to slide back.

Scooterworks, Scooterwest and other online retailers sell solo seats/saddle seats like this.

But no, they won't fit a 4T without modifying the scooter. I'd be surprised if it didn't need some modification to fit this GB150.

What does Fits Stella and PX Vespa with "modification for cowl latches" mean? How would the cowl latch come into play if installing this seat?

I'm guessing the front seat would be pretty easy to install; please correct me if I'm wrong. But the rear seat would need to be cored out in order to accommodate the evap system I'm guessing.

I just saw a Vespa P125 on the street with this seat and I looked it over, but again I don't see how it would effect the cowl latch.

That fits Stella description is almost definitely limited to the 2T Stellas! The gas tank is different on the 4T and the evap system will prevent mounting of the rear passenger saddle.

It'll take much more modification to get this on a 4T.

Eric, do you think mounting the front seat will be difficult? I can imagine the rear seat will be a challenge with the evap system and the gas tank has a raised lip. If I try this I just wouldn't want to alter the actual scooter to get it to fit; I don't mind coring out the bottom of the seat to get it over the evap system if that would work.

I don't think there's enough under these seats to core them out to make space in the right places. It's the mounts that will really be an issue, though. I haven't done enough of a visual comparison to see; don't have access to the seat.

IF the rear seat is like others I've seen, you mount a plate to the bike, and the seat to the plate. I would think the whole evap thing would get in the way.

I am considering the set up for my 2T (nice sale!) but what modification to the cowl latches, has anyone done this? Does Scooterworks sell the modifications?

Keep in mind that a saddle seat gives a much different riding position than a bench seat. It is not necessarily bad, but it is very upright and doesn't give much "wiggle" room. The seats are adjustable so you can change the spring tension. I would suggest sitting on one before making the change. I like the look and have one on my GL but sometimes it's nice to slide back and tuck out of the wind!

I think that's a deal breaker for me; thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to stick with the stock seat even though this is a great looking seat and really gives it a nice retro look.

You may want to call Scooterworks and ask about this. I'm guessing the latches just need to be shortened a bit.

I e-mailed a guy on ebay about his seat and he said it will work:
...but you will need a base for buddy seat to be mounted on. And the base is not listed in eBay but price is $39.

Wouldn't it have made more sense if he said you need the base of a Stella 4T seat to make it work?

I don't understand your question, but this is not the base of a Stella 4T seat.

I asked him if the seat he was selling (the listing did not say it would work on a Stella 4T) would work on a Stella 4T, is said it would but you'd need this base for the buddy seat portion.

EDIT.

I think I know what you're asking. When he says "buddy seat", he doesn't mean a Genuine Buddy seat. The back portion of this two seat combo is called a buddy seat.

I'd wager your guy on eBay has never actually seen (in person) or measured the underseat area of a Stella 4T.

I can't say with any certainty that it won't work, but I wouldn't buy from eBay (unless he accepts returns) before having seat and Stella 4T in hand to see if they do!

Motorsport in San Diego has the seats and Stella 4Ts in stock. They may able to provide a little guidance on this.

Thanks eric, I gave them a call and the guy said they have the front seat but nothing that would work with the 4T's gas tank and evap system.

But you know, the buddy seat brace photo the eBay guy sent me looks interesting.

I'd give Route66 a call. In this thread they put a Stella 2T seat on the 4T.
They had to extensively modify the seat base.
