Now don't be dissin' those 170i folks cause I just got my Stella 4T and I still want a Buddy 170i. If my Stella had not come in time there was a Mocha 170i with my name all over it.

So now that we're over here on the Stella side of things, I'll say: Heh.

I wonder if they even reviewed the 170i? I don't think they did. They've expanded their scooter coverage, but IMHO the selection of the 2012 Kymco People GT 300i shows they get a rather narrow sample to choose from. I'm sure it's a fine scooter, but not all that different or better than others out there, including their 2009 "Best," Kymco's Downtown 300i.

My guess is that you are exactly right. The 170i has just become available and reviews haven't really come out yet. In any case, I can't think of two scooters that are much more different than the Stella and the Buddy 170i. I'd say the "eat that" comments are a bit misguided, as well as tacky. (and I don't have a dog in this fight  )

I had a chance to ride the Buddy 170i for two weeks, as a loner, while my Stella was in for maintenance. It's a fine scooter and a ton of fun. The Stella is a throw back to the old school scooters that were all we had back in the day. It too is a blast to ride and actually turns more heads with it's retro look. They're two different animals and in my opinion they're both deserving of high honors for what they give their owners.

"Eat that" too tacky?
Did you miss the wink?

Oh how sensitive we have become! Here Sir, is your trophy for coming in 7th! Just to make sure no feelings are hurt.

All kidding aside, the Stella and Buddy are both Genuine products, and I own both. If we can't tease ourselves, then there is a serious need to lighten up.
