Stella 4t exhaust upgrade question

So i'm committed to getting a stella 4t in the near future. (basically as soon as I can find one) I saw this video here:

I love the way it sounds, but realize I wouldn't want that for my intentions. I plan on riding on this 5 days a week 14 miles one way, 28 miles round trip. Mostly sub highway (45-55 mph). That loud would drive me nuts and deaf, but at least I wouldn't have to worry about people hearing me.

My question is, if I just get the pinasco exhaust upgrade, will i need to have the engine retuned, or is it a simple bolt and play type thing?

Also is putting the larger carb on going to diminish the longevity of the engine? and or seriously hamper fuel economy?

Will the exhaust alone provide a little more highend? I know that they can do 60mph out of the bag, and would like to push that up a little bit so that when i'm coast along at 55 I'm not trying with the engine all stressed out at it's limit.

Also, it will do 60… until you hit an incline.

Adding a pipe alone won't do much to improve top end. It will require some carb tuning, possibly rejetting and adjusting air/fuel. If you get the kit (with carb), the engine won't need further tuning.

But before running out and spending $700 on the kit, it's best to start with realistic expectations of what kind of performance gains you'll see.

jimmbomb has a pipe (the Polini) and 21mm carb so you may want to ask him about it.

I have not touched the engine yet, I am a little over 2k miles.
I added a w/s and can get it to top out around 65 mph on flat ground. I weigh about 190 lbs and have all the extra chrome (not on me, on the stella!)

Please post any information you get. I am in the same boat. 500 miles on my Stella and havent had it above 50mph, but I would like to be able to at least not feel like i am getting run over on a 55 mph country road.

Now I went and bought a Polini pipe from SIP overseas as it was cheaper $$ than the Pinasco that Scooterworks was selling...

Then I went and bought the $270 dollar Pinasco carb that Scooterworks was selling..
After many battles with that carb.. and i still wasn't satisfied with the results.. it ran ok, but still stuttered some and the MPGallon suffered ALOT.
So I took it off and put the stock air filter and carb back on.
I did up-jet one more size on the main jet though..
Now it runs great when warmed up.
MPG is good and runs on the highway at speeds real well.. (thread #1)

Im satisfied with it at this point..
I aint gonna spend anymore money on it trying to get it to go faster.
Are you having problems getting highway speeds consistently on your stock stella right now?

Since time has past... I have found that samuriscoot bought a Polini???? carb for his and he seems excited about it...
I checked into it and it is indeed about a hundred bucks cheaper that Scooterworks Pinasco fiasco.
maybe that one works well with their matching exhaust, but it's a 700 $dollar + gamble...
I say try yours on the highway bone stock...
ride it for 20 miles and see if you can comfortably keep up with traffic and not be scared shitless.
If so.. then save your dough..

jh your setup looks great. Love the chrome end on there. While the POC version was super loud and sounded awesome, this also sounds pretty good, and is not OVERLY too loud.

So just to make sure I know what you have I'll recap:

The polini exhaust
stock carb rejetted.

Does that about cover it? (minus all the gutting of the exhaust)

That is correct,2d.. just the polini pipe and stock Carb rejetted. Runs real well.. after warm up.
