I've had my Stella 4T for a week and a half. For an engine this size I think that an oil and filter change at 200 miles is probably a good idea. The mfgr. and the dealer don't want to see it again until 500 or 750 which I think is too long.
Does anyone know how to change the oil and filter (does it even have one? the owner's manual is not real clear on this point and I'm not seeing anything that looks like one) on this thing?
I found a YouTube video but it's for a 2 stroke Stella. Not much use to me.
I'd like to change the oil and filter but I need some help.
The oil I can figure out, the filter - not so much.
I'd like to change the transmission oil as well, I'm sure there's as much metal floating around in there as there is in the engine. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Somebody must know the answer to this

Thanks for the help. At least now I know where the oil screen is located. As for the oil filter if I have to remove the rear wheel to get to it does anyone have any good ideas as to how to get the rear wheel off the ground? I know I need a jack but where do I position it? Where, for that matter do I get an oil filter for this beast? It seems that the folks at Genuine have made this as hard as humanly possible for an owner to do anything along the lines of their own servicing. I'll probably just dump the oil, clean the strainer and leave the filter for the dealer but it ticks me off that I can't reasonably accomplish this myself.

On my 2T I use a piece of 2x6 wood. I place it next to the bike, then lift the rear and rest the engine block on the board. This gives me just enough space to remove the rear wheel without needing to deflate it.Nettar wrote:Thanks for the help. At least now I know where the oil screen is located.
