Cuppini Luggage Rack on 4T?

Post by skankingee »

Hey everyone. New member, new Stella owner!

I've been trying to find threads referring to this rack, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience installing this on a 4T:

I know there are some issues with the evap system on the 4T and rack/backrest compatibility. It seems like the cross brackets are raised a bit to accommodate the 4T structure (?), but I'm hoping I can get some feedback from first hand accounts.

Thanks in advance!

I have not installed that rack but I have installed this one:

The points of attachment seem to be pretty much the same.

Yes you will need to disconnect the evaporative recovery tube and the electrical connection to the fuel gauge sending unit and reconnect them after you've bolted on the rack. This is not a big deal.

If the folks you're buying this from try to get you to purchase a longer seat pin - don't. I bought my rack (and the pin) from Scooterworks and found that the pin is considerably too long for the Stella. Use the original pin with a flat washer or two under in approximating the thickness of the rack mounting and you'll have no trouble.

Good luck!

I'm also bumping this because I want to do the same thing. I thought I heard somewhere that there's a way of modifying the rack a bit to fit the 4T but I can't find the info anywhere.

I was lucky enough to have my dealership install this rack on my new stella 4t. He said he had to modify the actual bolt configuration, since this rack was made specifically for the 2t. I've attached a photo of how it was attached to mine (sorry, it's a night shot). Hope this helps!
