2 days ago, the first time I turned the turn signal on it didn't work nor beeped. Then when I turned it off and back on again it worked.

Today, it didn't work at all coming home from a ride. When I got home and tried to restart my Stella it would not start by way of the electric start, horn didn't work and signals wouldn't work.

I pulled the 8 amp fuse behind the battery and it was toast. All the stores are closed for the night around here to get me a replacement fuse. When I went to put the battery back in the scooter, it started sparking when I attached the positive after attaching the black wire first. Then a spark came from the Cut Out Relay and it heated up and had a spark coming out of the front of it. All this went on without a fuse even in the holder.

First, what would cause this and do you think this was the original problem that blew my fuse in the first place. I am assuming I will need to buy atleast a new Cut Out Relay and an 8 amp fuse..

Any help will be appreciated.

Well I had this same thing happen to me, at first it was the headlamp, then it was the electric start, then the horn stopped, then the turn signals went in and out, then all the lights and switches. The engine purred like a kitten but basically none of the electronics worked. I took it in to the dealership to have them take a look at it under warranty because I just got mine a couple weeks ago, and they came back with "a bad stator". The owner said they rarely go out especially this soon but that was the answer I got with my symptoms. Maybe that helps you..

Ironic you say this about the stator. I just got mine back from the shop last week because of a bad stator. They put a new one in and it ran fine for a couple of days. Then what I described happened.

I have a question:

After what I described above my next steps were:

1. I disconnected the Cut Out Relay
2. Changed the 8 amp fuse and put a new one in.
3. Turned the key from off to on and then back off again.
4. I then checked the new 8 amp fuse and the FUSE WAS BLOWN AGAIN. (I was hoping it didn't blow, this way I could just buy a new Cut Out Relay, replace it, and be up and running again)

Question: Would having the Cut Out Relay disconnected blow the 8 amp fuse or do I have another problem somewhere that is blowing my fuse?

I really believe the wire harness has been misrouted when the stator was exchanged and it rubbed through after a few days.

Disconnect the engine harness from the main harness and then replace the fuse and try the switch on.

If the circuits behave, you have isolated the problem to engine harness.

Thanks for the input Rob. I will take it back to the shop and let them look at it since they are the ones who put in the new stator for me. I hope that is it because they would owe me a new cut out relay (which scooterworks told me is discontinued for some reason).

I put my multimeter on continuity yesterday. When I put one prong on the wire coming from the fuse holder and the other grounded to the frame (or black wire to battery), then IT HAS continuity. This means it is grounded somewhere causing it to blow.

I checked all the normal places for bare wires, etc. and everything looks good. It has to be in there where they replaced the stator.

I will let you know when the shop tells me something.
