One week and 500km on the new 2012 Stella 4T
I did a hard breakin always keeping a high load on the rings. I changed the oil at 300 km and adjusted the valves the other day and found the intake valve to be too tight by .001. Also living at sea level I found the plug to be too white so I had to richen it up by 3/4 of a turn. Then out on the hyway finally to put her through the paces at a higher load and rpm. Boy she is running very nice as things are starting to wear in. Lots of power and sounds real throaty which I like. I am very happy with this machine. 90 km/hr is no problem with a bit more in reserve, although I will need to get a windshield for the times I need to take the hyway.

What happened to the whitewall tires?

They don't come in white walls anymore. Anyways, sweet black paint! I'd like to see red rims on a black Stella like they had on the Black Jack...

The manufacturer went to Dunlop tires and no white wall this year. The tires are handling and gripping real well. The Dunlop's are a real improvement from what the Stella used to come with from what I've read.

I've got about 1300 miles on my Stella 4T. She had her 1st service at 600 miles full on oil, valves, nuts, bolts, etc...
My question when should she have her next oil change?

3000 km's when the next service is due.

I hit 1200km the other day and have the bike scheduled for it's service but the dealer informed me that they don/t have the oil filters and think it might be another week before they have some shipped out. With the amount of miles I'm racking up I thought this was going to be a problem having so many miles on the scooter with the original oil filter from the factory. Well filter or no filter I have to take the scooter in now because while on a ride to Qualicum Beach the other day I lost all electrics. No headlight, tail lights, break light or instruments. This is the first Stella the shop has sold and they are less familiar with the bike than I am at this point so it looks like I'll be without a ride for a few days, dagnabit. I feel like a bird with a broken wing.

Here is an update on the electrical problem I was having if anyone is interested, my previous post will explain the symptoms.
The scooter has been in the shop for a week and is finally fixed. The electrical problem was that the main harness that runs through the steering column had worn through from rubbing against the inside every time I turned the bars. The wires grounded out on the steel column. The shop cut the wires spliced in new wire by soldering and shrink tubing the repair, they also separated the bundle and made several small bundles of wires so as to stop the harness from being grabbed and pressed against the column wall, in effect creating a reduced profile that the original monster cable had.
All this was done under warranty of course although I did miss the use of my scoot for a week. I think I will celebrate this setback and buy a new rack for the back of the Stella.
