Was tooling around on ebay and bid on a new 2009 Stella. Lucky for me i won the bid. Now i have a Christmas present for her waiting. Poor scoot, been waiting 3-4 years for an owner. Not sure how i will be able to wrap it and slide it under the tree....opens for ideas. I live in Charlotte and the scooter is in Alabama, which is good because i don't know where to store it and keep it a surprise.

Put a big bow on it and leave it in the driveway. Cover her eyes until just the right moment for the "WoW" moment....

I was thinking uship. The shop said for about $200 I can get it delivered. It would cost me that in gas there and back if I picked it up. Not sure. I am hoping they will keep it till at least December.

Yeah, I was thinking gas is going to kill you, to the point that it may not have saved you any money, haha, hopefully this is not the case. $200 shipping seems pretty damned reasonable actually. Hope the shop will hold it for you, =-)

A beaut! I wish my wife would get me a scooter for Christmas! I wish my wife wanted me to get her one, too!

You could always just wrap it in christmas lights and make IT the tree.

very nice present!!! just be aware of the 09 oil check valve malfunction problem. Dont put in more than a half quart of oil at a time when you see the white low level indicator.
Too much oil in there will weigh down the check valve spring and let 2t oil seep into the case when parked.. if it smokes like mad from a cold start up, it's blowing all that oil out the pipe till it clears...
it's a real problem for alot of 09's.. but not filling the tank full can inimize it.. good luck!

Got the scooter delivered yesterday.
Washed it and now have it in my neighbours dining room till christmas.
Hope i can keep it a surprise. Did take it for a spin around the block. Great fun!

That's awesome! I always ruin the surprise because I can't wait for it! It's nice of you're friend to let you store it until Christmas - or is it - it's nice of you to grace their dining room with you're wife's scooter.

You know you MUST get one of those stupidly large bows to put on either the seat or the front rack, right? It's an unwritten requirement of Christmas scooters.

Our club does a tacky lights tour to ride and see all the ugly xmas lights people put up. I adorned my crashbars with small lights connected to an outside power pack for the ride. Now that I have a 12V outlet on board I might do it again this year

We do that too. I have a battery-operated wreath for my legshield. It's a thing of beauty.
