Modern Buddy

I've post a few things here and there, but never really introduced myself.
I bought my Stella 4T back in September. I have put a bit over 800 miles on it since then, including a 2-up+gear 100 mile road trip (50 miles out, 50 back, camped overnight). Besides a few minor problems here and there Tej has been a very dependable and fun scoot.
One of the first things I did to my Stella was to remove all of the chromed plastic bits and paint them matte black. I also ordered amber turn signal lenses with black backings to replace the clear/chrome ones that are stock.
I think it looks great.

Congrats on the new Stella. Bonus for getting a black one, they look hella classy. Without the badging, you could almost be mistaken for an old PX.

Can't really tell in the pics, but the genuine badges are still there. I just painted them matte black. The effect is pretty nice, and I agree, it could be mistaken for a PX from 10 ft...that was kind of the idea
I'm still hunting down a black seat that I like better than the stock one. I know everyone seems to dislike the brown, but I like it a lot.

Just get cheekyseats to make you a cover. They are extremely rugged, take 10 seconds to install, and you can keep the stock seat. If you want something unique, just ask them, you would be surprised at what they can make.

I was thinking about removing the cover, cutting the foam down into a "corsa" shape like this one: http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/produ ... r_75903000
and making my own cover. I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine It's either that or dropping over $100 on that one...I think I can DIY it for less ???

On a related note, I'm interested in buying a spare stock Stella 4T seat if anyone has one. I don't care what kind of shape the cover is in, as long as the foam is ok. I would be more comfortable taking a hot knife to mine if I had a back-up

You might also want to check cheeky seats, their seat covers are extremely high quality and look like the seat was properly upholstered. They won't get you a cross seat but you might find a idea you like, I have the Italian flag seat from them an I absolutely love it.

I'm getting a cover from Cheeky for my Stella; just haven't decided what to get yet! Their checkered seats covers are NICE; saw one on a GT and thought it was a reupholstery job.

I've already poked a little hole in the vinyl from propping the seat up while the handlebars are locked. Gr.

Yup, that's mine. They did an incredible job on it, and the removable grass skirt is awesomely over-the-top crazy. It honestly feels like leather, and it is holding up flawlessly. If you get one, go custom, it's worth the extra money. It personalizes the scooter better than anything you can bolt on.

I plan on going custom! I have an idea for my Stella; just need to get around to working up everything.

Like the crate on the back, very utilitarian. I've got one too, just not in avatar pic.
