Stella rides better (heavier) with Prima Chrome Kit

Post by headhunterfrank »

Installed the Prima Chrome Kit including the front fender guard, leg shield guard, front rack, cowl cover, leg rest and the 3 in 1 back rack with back rest and spare tire holder. The works. She feel CONSIDERABLY heavier and more stable now I have to say.

Got the chrome for looks but she rides much better now IMO.

I wonder how much weight I have added by installing all that bling....

just a word of advice regarding the 3 in 1 rack... mine kinda fell apart within a few months. The three bolts that hold the smaller plate onto the larger one fell out during a rally and my rack was bouncing all over the place for the rest of the day. Also it developed a crack in the bigger plate around the hole for the seat peg. Had it welded with an additional piece of steel so it should hold now.

Well it turns out I'm an idiot. I know how much heavier she is now after the Prima Chrome Kit. It's 45 lbs. That's the weight of the package as per UPS.

So 45lbs minus boxes and wrapping so I'd say 43.5 lbs added as a result.

The pic of your left cowl cover looks like its is angled up towards the rear of the scoot. You may have the bracket which resides under the license plate upside down. I made the same mistake and couldn't figure out why my cowl protectors weren't lining up straight parallel to the ground. Other than that she looks great! Congrats on blinging her out.

Thanks for the plate tip- def gonna check that out when I get home tonight.

Still debating if I want to put spare tire in the back rack like it was designed. The space provided seems like I'd be perfect for my messenger bag (rectangular in shape). Secured with a bungee chord obviously.

Also, not sure if you can tell but I painted the tire whitewall black with vinyl paint (not a fan of the whitewall and didn't want to buy new tires just yet) but I am thinking of bringing whitewall look back now that I have chromed her up, especially if I put spare tire in the back....

We'll see....
