Plug ugly.

Post by slotrod65 »

Couldn't they have come up with something better than an ill-fitting black rubber plug? Seriously...

I didn't even know there was supposed to be a plug there.
"Stella" is Latin for "use threadlocker on all fasteners"

So... do other Stellas just have a hole there?

Prior to 2010 Stella just had a open hole there.
The plug came with the introduction of the 4t.

just take it off. OR....you are gonna owe me a beer. Go to Lowes ( take the plug along) and get a chrome block-off plug for a electrical box hole. It has spring loaded prongs that might just work. I have used them before on other bits.

I thought about one of those chrome plugs, and actually had one in my hand at the hardware store. But I did not pick one up as I thought the curve would not fit. maybe it is time to buy a few and experiment/mod/destroy a few to see if I can curve them to fit the steering column.

It looks better than the hole on the 2Ts

I didn't realize LML started using a plug there. Since my '07 is black, the black rubber plug should work nicely! Thanks for the post.

It covers the bolt that holds the lower handlebar assembly to the steering tube.
