No Electrical - please help!

Post by SeattleStella »

My Stella was running a bit rough on Monday, tried to start her up Tuesday and no luck...

No electrical - AT ALL; turn the key, hit the ignition switch and... nothing. No lights or horn.

New-ish battery, fluids are good, swapped out spark plug; fuses seem ok but not sure how to access them as the user manual I have is for a Vespa 125 (gasp)...

Fuses are the next logical step, right?

Please help!

you didn't mention about actually checking the fuse.

8 amp glass type fuse by the battery. fuse housing is on the rear of the battery box. (black plastic screw cap)

Thanks aaronnobody... fuse was totally blown. Off to buy a new fuse and get back out on the streets where I belong.

remember when a fuse blows it blows for a reason. usually.

first thing i would check is the charging voltage. put a multimeter across the battery terminals when the engine is running. rev the engine, the voltage shouldn't rise above 14.4 vdc. if it does you found your reason and order up a new regulator.
