2T shifting technique

Hello again,

This question is for anyone with experience driving 2T scooters, and especially those with 2T Stella knowledge.

My mechanic told me that I'm upshifting too soon and causing the engine to get bogged down. Subsequently, the idol is wandering/searching and the scoot has even died on me at stop lights.

-What technique do I need to be using to avoid this?
-How will I know when to shift up?
-Do you think shifting technique is my issue or something else?

I've honestly been riding it much harder lately and the issue returned, so I'm frustrated.

Regardless of when you upshift - what has that got to do with the bike stalling at idle? Now if the bike is stumbling when you upshift, you are shifting too soon all right. Try running the revs a little higher before you upshift. See if the bike pulls better after shifting.

Agreed. Since the cause of bad idle could be from quite a few issues (not your driving style) , I'd get a different mechanic with more experience. The idle mix adjustment would be as good a staring point as any.
