Stella 150 manual 2012 no spark

I purchased this at a local auction and it has 800 miles on it
No damage yet the ignition was removed from behind the key
I purchased a used one and installed it and everything works except the bike won't start
It turns over but has no spark
I used another plug from my 50 to see if that was the issue but no luck
The motor won't turn with the clutch released yet does when it's pulled in so that switch works
My kill switch is unplugged at the horn so that's not the issue
All connections at Cdi seem fine
Light comes on when I try to kick start it
Plug wire removed and re installed and it looks good
I'm looking for a spark by placing the plug on the engine and cranking but no luck
Any help would be great
Thanks

I have read that some Stella owners complain of a bad coil.

Where's the best place to buy the parts?

http://www.genuinescooters.com/dealers.html

A good dealer may be able to test the coil if you take it there.

also, disconnect the kill switch up on the handlebar. follow the wire down into the horn cover. There is a plug in there.

I've been posting on not so modern but was informed this is the site for a 2012 4 t question
My issues is no spark and I've run a few tests plus bypassed the kill switch
My question is I have a 4 wire ignition and was wondering if I should have 12 v power from the green wire to the cdi
It looks like the green wire runs via a connection at the horn into a green and white to the cdi but with ignition on no voltage
Any ideas
I posted a ton on the other site
Thanks

On my 09 2T, the green wire is the kill button wire. It does the same as grounding your old lawn mower's spark plug back in the day.
The green wire (on my 2T) could be cut off and the bike would run and I would have to use the ignition switch to shut it off.

I've been watching your posts regarding your issue for a while now and am wondering why you haven't contacted Genuine Scooters/Scooter-Works for help diagnosing your problem. I know it's easy to replace parts in hopes of finding a cure, but it seems as if a phone call to the Importer of your scooter could have saved you a lot of time and frustration and had you back on the road a while back?

I don't have a truck to load the scooter on plus did buy it as a project to see if I could trouble shoot it.
I live in Vancouver bc and no one I have contacted has even sold one or has parts so I decided to pursue this route.
You are correct I should just take it into a shop but the last time I did that the small repair cost more then the bike.
It seems they do have some electrical issues.
I just ordered a flywheel puller and cdi so will see what my next move is but will post back
I just returned from Korea and found a Lml star in front of a shop
Cool bike

I don't think you need to buy a truck to haul it to them, just pick up the telephone and give them a ring and discuss what you have, what you've done and what it's not doing. They are the technical support for North America for your scooter because they imported them. They also supply the appropriate parts. Your reluctance to contact them makes me wonder how you may have come by this scooter. It seems very suspicious. Secondly, from the responses you've generated here and on MV, there doesn't seem to be very many of these scooters floating about. Good luck

Start at the stator. Check the readings with a VOM.

Glad to hear that it worked.

Been meaning to get one of the Readspeed adjustable CDIs for my 4T, I understand that they offer a tangible boost in performance. One of these days I'll have time to get down to tuning it...

Jim,

The CDI for a Honda CH80 Elite will work fine. Same CDI from '85-'07. I've also found that CDI in the '84-'87 NQ50 Spree and I'm sure it was used in other Honda scooters of that vintage. It's plug 'n play.

BTW, the stator on a 4T is the same as an '03-'05 2T Stella. To use it, you need to remove the stator and pulser coil from the backing plate (five screws and one zip-tie); It'll bolt right up. Wiring colors are the same, but the connectors need to be swapped out.

Just to clarify, the Honda CDI only replaces the CDI for the 4T Stella. This doesn't work on the 2Ts or Vespas.
