Hallo !
I am riding from coast to coast of your big ol' country alone on my LML 200 next month.
If anyone fancies meeting up for a beer along the way let me know. I will post my route as soon as it is 100% finished.

Where are you starting? If you need a place to stay in Philadelphia, hit me up.
And I live a block from a Stella dealer so if you need parts or service...

I am starting in New York and finishing in LA. Thanks for the offer but I am not visiting Philadelphia, the closest I will be is Pittsburgh.

Actually my friend, when you're in New York, you'll be closer to Philly than when in Pittsburgh. (No offence please)
Anyway, safe riding. Have fun and all that other stuff.
I'll be following here and if your route takes you anywhere near me I'll keep an eye out. (South Central Pennsylvania near Harrisburg)

Was an easy catch for me as I grew up in New York, my brother lived in Pittsburgh, I currently live in Pennsylvania near Hearshey (where chocolate bars are born) and frequently travel to Philadelphia.
I'd be completely 'lost' in your country without a good map at least.
Edit to add:
I just re-read your blog and other information. It looks like you'll be in my 'neck if the woods' when you visit the Shoe in Hellam, Pa.
Let us know when you plan to be there. (It's less than 20 miles away)

If your route brings you through State College, PA. I'll be glad to buy you a beer - if I'm in town at the time.
Keep us posted!

I've 'eyeballed' your route, a good portion of it while you're nearing that point is in my regular 'stomping grounds'. Where you cross the Susquehanna River is quite close, York not too too far.
Be in touch, there may as well be many other members along your route willing to ride with you some as well.
Push this over to the General Discussion page, maybe you'll get more 'traffic'.

You're coming close enough to Philly that I could see riding with you for a while. What's your schedule? Are you doing the New York to (Plain)York in one day?

I will post a schedule for the first week once I have done a few sums.
For no fault of my own the whole trip is in jeopardy due to reasons that I probably shouldn't go into publicly. At the moment my scooter is not running with six days until it is due to be shipped across the atlantic,I find out the prognosis tomorrow.
If it does turn out that my scooter isnt salvageable in time I will be looking in to buying a geared 150 4T so that it is ready and waiting for me when I arrive on the 11th so I might be asking you lot for some help and advice.
I will keep you posted.

Without you stating details, yes, it sounds like you're in quite the perdiciment. Hope all gets sorted out without too much an issue.
Keep us posted. I for one, would be more than willing to offer as much 'support' as I can. I'm no mechanic, so can't offer any help that way, but my shop is reliable and not too far from your projected route through this area.
And as stated, if my work schedule allows, I'd enjoy the chance to meet up with you and ride with you on that leg or your journey.

Back on track, the scooter has been fixed by the other mechanic and I am picking it up tomorrow.
I will post some details about where I am going to be and when next week once I have figured it out for myself.
Thanks for all the support.

Oh boy not a good way to start, but at least he is still trucking along, props. I am curious what issues he will run into with our crumbling infrastructure.

He is driving right through where I grew up. Its cool to see it through his view. I was hoping to catch up with him, but too busy working.

Sorry for the lack of replies I have been busy riding and drinking.
I will be heading to Syracuse from Cleveland tomorrow and then on to Chicago the next day to find out where the oil leak is coming from and fix it.
Day 7 is now up if you fancy a read,I will try and check back in more often.
Thanks for reading,
