oil tank fuel tank distance

How many times can I fill the fuel tank on a long run safely before checking the 2t tank. Rather than waiting for air bubble to appear in sight glass and risking miss seeing it.
I'm pretty much a premix guy but there are many variables. Remember the injector pump is not linear. At mid revs it's a little over 2% at WFO a little over 3% mix.
It's kinda like mpg...depends more on riding style. If you know you're going on a long trip top off and check at each; or at least every other, fuel stop.
