Valve Adjuster Tool

Post by charlie55 »

Anyone know the size of the adjusters? 3mm square, 4mm square, etc? Getting to be maintenance time again. I got away without needing an adjustment last time, but would like to pick up the proper tool just in case.

Thanks

I never thought to check, I used an adjustable wrench. If you don't have a caliper to measure with, let me know and I'll pull a measurement possibly tonight. It'd be good info to have.

I'm going to be using the scoot for the next few days, so no time until the weekend to check. If it's not too big of a deal, I'd appreciate it. I know that some adjusters are slotted, but once I saw that my valves were in spec I never bothered to check their geometry.

Well, when I got home I had a wicked headache so I didn't pull teh cap off to measure. The heads are square (I'm thinking it was 4mm, but that's on fuzzy memory from a few months back) and the lock/set nut is 9mm.

I'll pop the valve cover off when I change out the transmission hopefully tomorrow evening.
