Future Blur & Crusier
I was listening to Phil from Genuine on "Just Gotta Scoot" yesterday.
http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/ta ... 296&cmd=tc
At minute 30 he spoke to the potential of the Blur coming back.
At minute 32 he spoke about a 270cc cruiser coming out in spring of 2010.
Have a listen.

Blur
I have been a classic scooter rider all my life. The Blurs handling is far superior to any classic style scoot. I'll never not have a vintage Vespa, but Phil needs to know that the Blur is one of the best 150 cc sport bikes on the road. I might buy a Buddy for my girlfriend but I'll definatly buy a new Blur if it is offered in the U.S.

We all know the Blur is great, and Phillip McCaleb knows it too. They don't need to sell a million of them to bring it back, and I bet they will. I joke about there only being ten of us, but they brought them in for two years and sold them out (eventually) so there's some demand.
The Buddy 150 (or the Black Jack specifically) is a 50cc scooter pushed to the very limits of its engineering. A Blur 150 costs a grand more, but it's just so much better designed, and there's probably room for the platform to grow.
People are coming around and I think it'd sell well now. I didn't listen to the podcast (I just can't bring myself to listen to podcasts, or talk radio, or audiobooks, when there's music to be listened to) but McCaleb knows I ride a Blur and has implied to me a couple times that he wants to bring the Blur back, so it's nice to hear that he's made that public.

If they bring it back, I want the technology to match the futuristic spaceship looks that the Blur sports. I'm talking a tunable EFI system (or at least one that has an "economy" and "sport" switch, ala Burgman style - or a modular chip design that could even be an "accessory" from the factory), a digital gauge stock (maybe blue or red back-lighting?) and the same suspension, but maybe with a stiffness selector for fine tuning a 2-up ride.
Of course, I want a lot of things that I may or may not get. so either way is just fine. One things for sure, this thing rides like it's on a rail at an amusement park. I've not seen anything that has the whole package that the Blur has.

A Gilera Runner? yeah, I'd be all over that, too.babblefish wrote:I'd be happy to just get what the europeans and asians have been riding for the last 15 years...
As far as the Blur, as long as it's orange, I'm happy.
