Yes, there's a few options for a variator upgrade. The most popular are the Dr Pulley and NCY. There's also Koso, but I don't know of anyone whose tried that one. It's hard to say exactly how much more top speed is achievable, with the variator alone, you might get 10kph more. The main thing the Variator does is improve the characteristics of the acceleration and ride.

The best bang for the buck is the NCY kit that replaces the variator, clutch, clutch pulley and bell. <a href="topic10793.html#138194">>I recently did a comparison between the NCY, Dr Pulley and stock in this post<</a>

racing variators can improve acceleration and add a little top speed especially if the belt travel outward is slightly increased[and that depends on the ramp design of the variator]

but to add top speed, change in gearing ratios can help a lot

thats why there are gear ratios for rapid acceleration and some gear ratios that are designed for top speed in which acceleration is just average

high speed gearing also improves the engine performance by not "pushing" the engine too far when you hit the trottle to the max[vs. standard gearing]

There's been some questions about gearing lately. It seems that the GMax takes a certain type of gearing. Any chance you remember who made the gearing set that you have in your bike?

hello again gmax lovers.

i was so busy at work and preoccupied with mountain bike modifications illness currently.

the gearing i got came from pgo. i forgot the stock number though.

the 200cc gmax gearing [secondary] can fit on a gmax 150 with a bit of machining...though to exploit its potential, you need the primary gear upgrade...thus doing so will benefit you additional top end [ but acceleration would really be compromised]

unless you venture mostly on straights...primary gear would be enough.since the variator helps in "offsetting" and keeping the balance of acceleration and top end to moderate

i missed our "friend"....havent seen him post ever since

but i did hunt around...apparently he still discriminates the existence of gmax 150/200cc against the owners of bigger displacement motorbikes/scooter [he does own a maxi scoot by the way..and a gmax 200]

his mantra as he always brags is: you dont have the right to brag about top speed if your engine displacement is less than 400cc



...and one forum member there got annoyed
