on the 3rd anniversary of Blur ownership I'm happy to report that:
1. My Blur is running as good as when new and has been a flawless scooter.
2. I have added a 2nd scooter to the garage ... a red SYM RV250. (so sad they don't come in orange ... sniff, sniff)
Now I have a cruiser and a bruiser! My wife highly favors riding on the cushy SYM ... so when we ride together, we'll be on the 250 from now on.
Planning on keeping the Blur too ... but if I ever change my mind you'll see it posted on Modern Buddy.

Hehe, I stepped back into the realm of multiple bike ownership as well this week, but for a different anniversary.
Ever since we got hit last October, my wife had lost all interest in riding on her own and I had lost a little confidence in carrying the both of us on the Blur. So riding was something that I enjoyed exclusively and that has caused a bit of rough in my otherwise wonderful marriage. It wasn't an issue of jealousy, but more one of neglect. We originally got the scoots so we could ride together (on separate scoots). So we've been looking at larger, longer range bikes (scoot and MC). I was almost sold on a 2009 VStrom or a 2009 Mana (wife really liked that one) we even closely looked at a 2009 Citycom; until a fella at work suggested a Kawasaki Concours. I started checking into them and found a pretty decent deal on one that was well outfitted and meticulously maintained, although a bit worn cosmetically. When we looked at the price and the insurance cost, it was a no-brainer. I rode it home last night, about 60 miles of curvy back-roads. I wouldn't hesitate to take that thing on long rides at all, especially since it's already decked out with luggage and amenities (4 windshields and 2 non-stock "comfort" saddles as well as cruise control, heated grips, GPS mount, etc, etc).
Funny thing is that this occurred on our second anniversary of our "official" marriage (we eloped to make things easier for our house purchase, then held a ceremony for our sentimental relatives a few months later). We hadn't planned on doing anything special for it, but the whole point of the touring bike was for long distance 2-up riding. So it was an anniversary present to ourselves. Best part is insurance was only $150 a year for comprehensive. WOW!
Congrats on the RV250. That thing is comfy as all get-out! I'm sure it'll make your relationship more solid to be able to enjoy more time together, especially with that exhilarating feeling of freedom that 2-wheeled open road riding entails.
And yes, I still commute on the Blur (and plan to for quite some time). Huge difference between the two, but it's nice having multiple tools for various jobs.

C'mon, Mr. Orange, you're slackin' off there. You've had plenty of time to paint that sucker by now, haven't you? Let me guess, you've probably been riding it, right?
All kidding aside, you've got a nice little collection there. The RV250's a really comfy scoot.
