I recently purchased a pair of Prima saddle bags for my Blur.
Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting them mounted. The bags include two velcro strips to attach to each other. These strips are meant to extend across the pet carrier, sandwiched underneath the seat. In my case, the seat won't latch with the straps in place (even with one in place). It seems the seat latch is pretty finicky with any additional material between the seat and the bike body.
Does anyone have these saddle bags on their Blur? If so, how did you mount them? My only option currently is strapping them over the back of the seat, save doing a small mod on the seat closure to allow for the straps.
Thanks in advance...

Even though I don't have bags, I'll hazard a couple of guesses:
1) Loosen the nuts/screws on the part of the latch that lies under the tail piece and move it up a bit.
2) Perhaps easier: loosen the latch "loop" that's attached to the seat, place some shims between it's base and the seat, then re-tighten. I imagine that a shim of the same thickness as the straps would do the trick.

Be careful with the shimming idea. The plastic on the seat pan is really thin in that area. If you do a shim, do one the size of the whole base of the catch ring.
The few tmies I've had saddlebags on my Blur, I had similar troubles. I found that the trick was to let the top straps have a little slack, then when the seat was closed, the slack was taken up by the little water lip that's on the seat bucket. Lifting the bags just a little seemed to help as well.

I've never tried the saddlebags on my Blur but I do run them on my Burgman quite often. I have found I need just a little slack in the straps, especially when they are loaded for a weekend trip. And like LMC said lifting the bags as you shut the seat helps take the pressure off of the straps and allow the seat to close.Lostmycage wrote: The few tmies I've had saddlebags on my Blur, I had similar troubles. What bags are you using on the Blur? I dont think my Nelson Riggs 850's would fit on the Blur without hitting the exhaust.

I think they're an older version of the Neilson Riggs CL850s, but I'd have to double check at home. They only fit with the stock exhaust and it was really tricky getting them just right. I think I found them pretty cheap on Ebay a good while ago.
