The short version of my accessorizing the Blur article is here - http://exm.nr/cvD8az

It does feature my invention of a Genuine Windshield-buffet-reducing piece of foam. Feel free to duplicate/ask questions about this ugly-but-effective garage-based solution 8)

Nice thread! Some pretty wicked mods on here. Rippinyarn you may want to get some stronger bolts for the rear rack. The ones that come with the rack are a softer gauge and tend to break/shear off after a while. I found out the hard way.

My mods are pretty standard. Rack, SHAD topcase, windscreen, Stebel horn. That rear camera mod is awesome and something I'd like to do in the future.

I saw a rear camera mod very similar to DaveLHunter's at Advance Auto Parts yesterday for about $30.

That sounds like sage advice. I'll pull one and head to the hardware store soon - I took the rack and windshield off before it got towed to the shop.

I found stronger replacement bolts at Autozone here in Cali. Also good to put some threadlock on those puppies. A couple of us on this board have had the same problem with the softer rack bolts failing.

I just ordered the buttpad after reading your awesome article (not to mention the hilarious posts on here regarding asses falling off).

I'll look into the rearview camera setup. $30 is a steal.

I had two of the original bolts shear off. To make matters worse, before this happened, I failed to notice that they were loose and they ended up damaging the threads in the rack itself where stock sized bolts could not longer be used. I had to drill out the holes and re-tap for the next size up bolts. I could have used a Helicoil, but didn't have the right size on hand and was in a hurry.
Some people can break a crowbar in a sandbox.
