Blur Brake Lever Adjustment

Post by nickwhite44 »

Anyone know if you can adjust the brake levers on a Blur to span a smaller distance between the grips and levers? My wife's hand is smaller than mine and she has a little trouble reaching for the brakes.

I can say for sure that there's no adjusting nut or anything of that nature on the 2006 model.

You might be able to bend the lever closer to the grip. My Blur fell over once and my left brake lever broke it's fall by hitting a pole, but it didn't break, it just bent. I bent it back by sliding a pipe over it and pulling. Straightened right up and didn't snap off.

Might wanna warm it up a little first, but in any case be careful, metallurgy is way outside my area of expertise, and that's not something you want to break while you're riding.

Also, if you can't adjust the travel at all, you want to be very careful not to bend them so much that they're touching the grips before the brake is fully activated…

Maybe aftermarket dogleg levers? No idea which would fit though.

What illnoise says is true, if you bend it, you don't want to run out of travel before the brakes are fully engaged!

OK, I'm leaving the levers alone! Thanks for the help.
