07 Blur sighting in SF
Hey, saw an 07 Blur on Lincoln going past 9th Ave on Sunday.. was just curious who it was, since it had an aftermarket exhaust and I hadn't heard any on a Blur in person before.. I'm curious which brand the exhaust is.
I think the rider was wearing a black Corazzo 5.0.

Cool, I should meet you over there sometime since I live directly across the park from there.. I usually just walk over but sometimes take my Blur.
Ever gotten a ticket for parking on the sidewalk? Only seems to be two motorcycle spots at 9th/Irving, although the parking lot that exits just past that corner has five spots.. just noticed those yesterday.

No, haven't gotten a ticket, yet; knock-on-wood (where exactly did that saying come from anyway?). I have seen scooters and motorcycles parked together on the sidewalk in the financial district and the motorcycles had tickets on them, but not the scooters.

I found this after a quick google search for "knock on wood origin". Enjoy...babblefish wrote:knock-on-wood (where exactly did that saying come from anyway?).

Hey, I think I saw this same guy (or is there more than one Blur in SF with an aftermarket exhaust and a guy wearing Corazzo) around Union Square last Thursday. I was behind him in a car, otherwise, I'd have given him a thumbs-up and try to ask him about the exhaust (didn't hear it, due to the din of Union Square)

I found a couple of carbon fiber exhaust systems, but I'm not sure if the pipe would fit around the plastic air intake scoop. Kinda debating whether or not I should order one anyway and modify either the scooter or the pipe to make it fit. I really want carbon fiber.

Perhaps contacting an MRP dealer direct would help.
Supposedly, the canister on the MRP Blur exhaust kit is universal, and its only the header pipe and fasteners that is Blur specific. I know that MRP has carbon fiber canisters available, it might just be a matter of buying the Blur "kit" and the universal carbon fiber can to mount with the kit...

Blur Battery Issue?
Hey peops. I live in SF and have had my Blur for almost a year, August 2007. This past weekend, after a few rough start-ups over a month or two, my Blur died. Es muerto. I called the Genuine Engine Road Side Assistance and the tow truck driver said it was dead battery. He gave me a jump and I drove it to SF Scooter Centre. I like those guys and trust them but they told me the battery only had a 30 day warranty but it could be a bigger problem than that.
Have you had an issue of a dead battery or the scooter not kicking over?

Weirdly, I ran into the same guy at the exact same corner.. had enough time to ask him if he'd heard of modernbuddy.com and he had, and that the pipe was an MRP. He had enough time to say "don't bother" about the pipe before the light changed.
Barry at SFSC also mentioned to me that the MRP needs to be rewelded periodically or something.
