Blur Saddlebags

Post by NathanielSalzman »

For those of you who are interested, thanks to Keys I finally found saddlebags that fit the Blur well. They're Dowco Rally Pack Delux bags and I love them! The fender pads are a nice touch and there's even a set of reflective side markers in different colors (including orange!). They're semi-rigid, neoprene padded inside and include an attached rain cover on each pack in its own zipper compartment. You can get them here:

Those are really sweet! And the price is right, too. Thanks for sharing. :)
With the addition of a top box, it'll look like a mini...no make that a micro hog! :)

Ha ha! Yeah, there will be NO top box on this bike. That's the whole reason for the saddle bags. At most I might still do a tail bag that would sit on the seat behind me, but definitely not a top case. I don't like the way they cover up the rear lightworks.

Those bags do look pretty good on there. But would they work if you don't have the rear rack? Looks like you have them strung through there to mount them.

Thanks to Keys, Lojical1 and I both have had the Dowco packs for almost a year now and still love them. They really do have a lot of room in them. Very durable and cost way less then a lot of other brands.

Yes they totally will. I didn't have the rack on there when I originally mounted them. The rear strap simple spanned above the license plate. I was at Scooterville on a Friday afternoon and they happened to have the rear rack and at the same price as Scooterworks online, so I went ahead and splurged. It turned out to be an even better spot to run the rear strap. The upward angle helps bear some of the weight as well as keep the packs from sliding forward.

Saddlebags

Post by Scooterdude »

Just wanted to say thanks for suggesting the saddlebags. I bought a set and installed them in no time. I did end up customizing the front mounting system to do away with the large front strap that passes in front of the seat. I cut down two of the smaller straps, (with the pinch buckles), and bought two flat rubber washers and chrome fender washers and mounted the new front attachments to one of the existing side panel hex head bolt mounting points. Total cost of new longer chrome bolts and assorted washers $6.00. Easy to do and looks factory. Also, no rear rack required. If anyone would like photo's send me an email to [email protected]
