Belt size and hoping for continued great service from GSC
Spent the better half of a Sunday afternoon scouring the world wide web for a kevlar (or otherwise) replacement belt for my Blur 150 (and watching the Dodgers). Does anyone know the exact size? Will a generic gy6 belt fit? It just seems that parts and info for this bike is some kind of big secret. What's with that, Genuine? BTW, a pipe or other upgrades for the bike that You (Genuine) sold should be more available. Am I the only one who thinks this? I mean, come on, I can't even get a back tire for this bike! If I want an oil filter from Scooterworks, I just have to assume that the Buddy one will work. We (Blur Owners) may be few but we can get loud, we will demand support and parts, we will rise up! /b]

The original belt is made by Bando and the size is 812 x 20 x 28. 812 represents the length (mm), 20 is the top width (mm), and 28 is the angle of the vee.
Don't bother trying Bando. I contacted them, and this is strictly a Genuine/PGO-specific size. They don't have them, and there are no direct replacements available from other sources such as Gates, Polini, etc. I think that you can also pretty much forget about kevlar as well.
I went through this headache some months ago (check the Blur threads), and was only able to resolve it by going directly through Scooterworks (I didn't have a dealer available). Try your dealer first.
Purchased directly from Scooterworks, they run about 44 bucks each. I purchased two, along with a spare fuel filter and a spare air filter.
You might also be able to find a Taiwanese seller ("autotech" something or other) on Ebay who can get these for you since it is, after all, a PGO G-Max, and they're still making them.
Believe me, the entire Blur Brotherhood feels your pain.

Easy Trigger
The Belt size: 812x20x28
Oil Filter: same as Buddy
Pipe: The Blur's no longer imported, so they're focusing on their current model lineup. Chances are they'll not have that again. Production runs require setting up a factory to mass produce a product which means they need to have a certain number of interested buyers lined up. If there's no market, they aren't going to invest the money into production.
Yeah... that blows, I know. But if you've got $400 burning a hole in your pocket, there's always MRP. Of course that's $400 that could be spent on pretty much anything else... new CVT system, new jug, etc.
Tire: You're not chained down to Maxxis. Pirreli, Goodyear... there's several that make a decent tire - with higher speed ratings too.
If you find a kevlar please let us know. The Blur has an odd-ball sized belt, it's the only one that uses that size. There's some that are close, but I've never seen a Kevlar made just for the Blur. At least not in the states.
And we definitely feel your pain!

just venting
Hey, thanks guys, for indulging me and also for the info. How important is the V angle? Can a 30 as opposed to a 28 point something really make that much difference? I understand the whole not imported anymore thing but this is a popular bike in Asia and Europe. Just sayin. thanks again-

I've been asking that same question for a while now.
I've been speculating that it's really not all that important and the reason for that conclusion is that the Blur works great with aftermarket variators and final drive pulleys. Those same aftermarket parts are made for the other 98% of GY6 type engines that use the 30 degree belts.
I've been really tempted to try this theory out for a while now. It's just a matter of finding the right belts.
When it comes down to it, it's 28 to 30degrees, which is just one degree per pulley half. If anything, the 1 degree will "wear" in.
If you find something that works, please share. That quesions been nagging at me for a loooooong time now.
