Rack Bolts

Noticed that my topcase was clattering quite a bit today. When I took a look, I saw that one of those bronze/brass-colored bolts that secure the rack to the grab bar had sheared off right below the threading in the grab bar. Fortunately, the metal was so soft that it was easy to cut a slot into the stub and back it out.

Equally fortunate, Lowes has hex-head cap bolts that are an exact fit. If anyone ever needs to replace their bolts, the correct spec is M8-1.25 x 25.

I'm glad to hear that it worked out so well, Charlie, that could have been a royal pain.

Also, i've come to the conclusion that 75% of the Blur is threaded with M8-1.25 x various lengths. I had to special order the M8-1.25x30 bolts when I was playing with the breaks (the ones at the local hardware stores we're rated high enough for my comfort).
