I can bet if Genuine did import the PGO colors for the Gmax, even relabeled as the blur, but still have the main color scheme the same, they would have sold better. Back in 2006 it was orange and grey/black, and thats it. People who didnt like it moved on to look at other bikes, or bought it and repainted or ignored it.
As for colors, I like the '07 gray. If you look at the Scooterworks catalog (No. 5 I think) it's just damn sexy looking. I look at mine in the garage and the thing just looks fast. Last night I pulled up behind a Ninja 500 at a light and the rider and his passenger couldn't figure out what I was riding. They kept looking back until I pulled next to them at the next light and turned right.
I'm sure they were laughing when they figured out it was a scooter, but head-on it's just got so much appeal. Not that it doesn't from the side.
I will be a bit sad when the new one goes on the market and it makes our less rare.
As I've said many times, I've got a Blur and a 550cc motorcycle. For around town, I take the Blur. Hands down. I want more power, and so I'm thinking about a Vespa GTS 300ie. I just can't get my head around getting rid of the Blur, though. And, I don't think I can justify upgrading to the 220. It just seems like I would still need another bike for highway use.
I really like this new Blur - and would go for one if I didn't already own one.
But the bump up in displacement and FI isnt enough for me to sell my black/grey '07 (which will probably drop in value due to the 220 release). It would need to be a sweet trade-in for me to divert some of my savings into a scoot that just gives me a larger, better(?) engine.
Then again, Genuine most likely isn't targeting existing Blur owners.
