Valve clearance.

Post by Irishrover »

I have never had my valve clearance checked and have 7500km on the clock, is the method for the Buddy the same as for the Blur?

Same method, same clearance. I found it's easiest to do from the right side of the scooter. You can do it with just the seat removed, but removing the lower side fairing makes it really easy.

Went to my local bike shop today to enquire how much they would charge for checking and adjusting my valve clearance and was quoted $200. I also enquired about the cost of a replacement PGO drive belt $90.
At that price I'll be doing the valve clearance myself.

Damn! That's a 15 minute job, 20 if you remove the fairing... and that's counting the put it back together time. Just do it when the engine is cold.
