The Speedometer for a 2006 Blur reads 5 to 7 mph fast
Is there a special cable or easy fix for this?

No. And actually that's not bad for an '06, the '07s tend to read closer. We tend to obsess about these kinds of things around here. The other is gas mileage. There is a digital cluster you can buy from PGO in Taiwan, but from what I understand they still have the same error. I've never heard of a scooter having a speedo that read right on. 3 percent is about the closest you can expect.dschiedow wrote:Is there a special cable or easy fix for this?

I'm jumping through hoops trying to find one of these PGO digital gauge clusters. Know where I can get one? I emailed that autotech person on ebay, and he said the flood in Taiwan affected the PGO factory, so there's not any around. True or not, who knows.

There are a couple of threads about that on here. Search for Blur and digital cluster and you should be able to find it. Somebody has a source for them, I think.9900rpm wrote:Sorry to thread jack.KCScooterDude wrote:No. And actually that's not bad for an '06, the '07s tend to read closer. You guys are going to laugh, but anyone think about opening up the stock speedometer gauge and twisting the needle back a bit? I did it to a PX speedo pack accidentally when installing a new lens, ended up making it almost spot on perfect. Dumb luck... but it should work on other speedos as well.

It's a lot easier to just tape on new numbers.Steady Teddy wrote:You guys are going to laugh, but anyone think about opening up the stock speedometer gauge and twisting the needle back a bit? So I decided to try my suggestion. I pulled apart the headset and the speedo pack. Removed the clear lens then carefully pulled off the speedo needle. I then quickly replaced it slightly farther back counterclockwise... maybe 1/3 of an inch. A complete guess, mind you. Put her all back together, attached the Garmin GPS and took a run down PCH. My BLUR now reads about 1.7 mph higher than actual. If I wanted to mess with it again, I could probably get it closer, but I figure I will leave well enough alone at this point. If anyone has any question, shoot me a PM and I will try to help you out with the procedure.

Can you give me the run down on doing that with the digital dash?

That's a good point as well.BeachBuzz wrote:at what speed??Steady Teddy wrote:My BLUR now reads about 1.7 mph higher than actual.
mine is pretty close to 10% off through the range - as best as I can tell not GPS checked
Still, it's a pretty simple and easy solution. I guess you just set it to the speed you like to go and you're done.
Steady Teddy, just out of curiosity, how fast does that Blur go once the Speedo is changed?
