Blur 220i Rough Idle??? Sputtering??

Does anyone with the 220i notice a rough idle, especially when the bike is not warmed up? Does this bike have an "auto choke" like the 150? I don't know much about fuel injected bikes, and maybe I just got a tank of bad gas, but I have noticed lately that my idle seems to be "sputtering" especially when cold. It starts right up every time, but my idle drops to about 1,000 rpm's and then jumps up to around 3,000 rpm's and just hangs there for a while before settling down to the normal 1,700 rpm's. It then drops back down and then jumps back up again. Once I take off the bike responds fine most of the time, but I also notice today that it was "sputtering" on take off also. It almost felt like it was mis-firing? Anyone have any ideas. I am not going to be able to go to go to the dealer for my 1st service for weeks. I hope it is nothing that will require me leaving my bike there overnight as the closest Genuine dealer is over 100 miles away. I know that the first service calls for a valve check / adjustment.
Tomorrow I am going to take a look at my spark plug to check the color.

EFI model should not have this type of problem.

I looked in the owners manual and there is a button to press under the storage compartment that drains the fuel in the EFI which is designed to be used if your bike has been sitting for a while. I drained it using that button and the problem I thought went away, but I spoke too soon. Maybe bad gas, or maybe the gas that I had from the dealer had been siting in it for a while. I have also heard that there is sometimes junk in the bottom of the gas tank from the factory that comes out in the first tank of gas.

Time to get jealous, all you have to do to "clean the carb" is press a button now.

I'm really intrigued by this - I've never heard of that before.

If you remove the storage compartment, it is right there on top of the EFI (which looks like a carbureator. It is a round tube shaped piece about the thickness of your finger with a button to press on the end of it. I held it town for about 10 seconds, then just to be sure I pushed on it about 8-10 times like a lounger. I could smell the fuel coming out, but oddly enough I could not see it dripping on the ground.

Update: my valves were out of spec.

I went to the dealer for the 1st service and when they checked the valves, they were not to spec so the needed adjusted. This could also explain the rough idle.

I think I'm starting to have this problem, too.

Noticed it was idling a bit rough tonight...also didn't seem to have the grunt it did before. I'm down to a bit under half a tank from what was in it when I got it, and I'm pretty sure it's the same gas that was in it when the dealer got it in June.

It's a bit early for a first service - only 88mi on the odometer, but it might be worth having them check it out. Think I'll try that flush first, and if it doesn't help, I'll take it in and have them look at it.

I still have the same rough idle. I was upset when I arrived at the dealer since I made my appt. over a week in advance and I asked if they had everything to service the new Blur. They said they did, but when I got to the dealer to drop it off I asked if they had the diagnostic tool and they said "no." So I drive over 100 miles to get to the nearest Genuine dealer and then find out they don;t have the diagnostic tool!
After getting back from the dealer, who told me that sine the valves were adjusted because they were out of spec and this could explain the rough idle, I expected the problem to be solved. Unfortunately, when I went to ride my bike yesterday I realized I still have the same problem! I called Genuine in Chicago and they were very helpful. They told me that they suspect it is the "throttle position sensor" The only bad thing is now I am going to have to drive over 100 miles to get to a dealer that has the diagnostic tool that will be needed to diagnose the problem. The bike runs perfect once it is warmend up and they told me it won;t hurt the bike to ride it as it is, so it will probably be a while before I take the trip again. At lease I know it will be taken care of by the warranty!

Throttle position sensor makes sense here. I'll check with my dealer and see if they have the correct tools as well. I suspect they don't.

Who have you been talking to at Genuine? I only have email addresses for them, no phone numbers.
