I saw one at my local dealer in KC the other day. I have say I don't like the white, the dorky turn signals and the cuff thingy over the rear wheel. I'll stick to my Blur 150. I would highly recommend the 220 though if these things don't bother you. The Blur is a heck of a scooter and the 220 will only make it better.

Both the dorky signals and the cuff thingy come off relatively easily. :D

One thing I've been pleased with is how easy it is to do basic cosmetic treatments on this bike.

And the handling. Didn't think it was possible to make a scooter handle like a CBR or an R6. But it does. "Confidence-Inspiring" doesn't even come close to describing it.

What kind of tires do the 220i's come with? If they're the Maxxis that came with the 150 Blur, be careful how much confidence you get inspired to feel. Those are some hard tires - they last forever, but there's lots of stickier replacements available.

As to the cosmetics... yeah - all that stuff can be changed easily. KC, take a look at the Gunmetal in person. It's dead sexy and until I saw them in person, I was convinced that the white one was the sleeker version. The gunmetal is frikin hawt.

Gotta agree. I had a choice between the two when I bought and I was within an INCH of buying the gunmetal, but opted for the white. If I was gonna do it again, I'd probably do the gunmetal.

In any case, I'll check into the tires.

Got a suggestion?

The Michelin City Grips are getting really good reviews for both traction and longevity.

220 puts the Blur in a different class

I agree with what Bill said. The turn signals, rear fender, cuff, etc. can all be taken off within 30 minutes if you don't like them (I don't care for them either. The biggest difference I see is that with the Blur 220cc motor you have a completely different machine. When I had my Blur 150 I loved the bike, but it was only good for running errands around town that did not require highway & freeway riding. I had to have my sportbike for when I needed to go on the freeway, long trips, etc. With the 220i you basically have 2 bikes in one. You have an in town scooter and pretty much an "automatic motorcycle" for long trips & freeway cruising. The bike goes 80+mph so I can ride from Los Angeles to Fresno, etc. over the mountains and still have enough power to go over the mountains while still maintaining around 70 mph uphill. With my 150 I could not really ride through the mountain highways like to 5 freeway, etc. and keep up with traffic. With the 220 it's no problem. I really feel like with the 220 I can go anywhere I could go on my motorcycle. This is why I sold my street bike.

The Blur SS is in a class by it's self. I've got just over eleven hundred miles on mine and love every minute I spend in the saddle. And, since I have a Burgman 400 that I dearly love to ride, it's like having two girlfriends and getting away with it.
I opted for white because I thought it had a cleaner, sharper look, but there isn't a thing wrong with the gunmetal. As for the stalk turn signals and the european mud-flap, my dealer took them off as part of the deal and wired up the cowl signals for me.
Come Spring I hope to see an after-market exhaust system becoming available, as well as transmission parts, a service manual, etc. It'll just keep getting better.

White would be my choice because it's a blank canvas. In other words, it can be any color or graphic pattern you can dream up since it's easier to paint over white than gunmetal. Just my two cents. :)
