Blur performance upgrades ARE HERE!!

We apologize if this is seen as spam, but we know that Blur owners really want to increase the power and speed of their scooters. Our mechanic has been playing with the Blur lately, and we have come up with some great upgrades. We haven't seen many available yet, and we realized that people need performance items for their Blurs!
Exhaust: Five styles of muffler (chrome, anodized red, anodized blue, carbon fiber, and rainbow).
Variator Roller Weights: Heavy for higher top speed, or light for quicker acceleration off the line.
Racing clutches and springs available.
Kevlar belts will be available soon.
I have driven the Blur we modified, and the acceleration is fantastic. This one has been built for quick take off, and revs up about 1,000 rpms higher than stock.
Pictures follow. If you want more info, give us a call. Our phone number can be found at

Thanks for the announcement - I think among us Blur owners there is a great thirst for performance upgrades

so this is welcome news.
Any data on just how much improvement, etc.? I'd like to make sure it's worth nixing my 2-year warranty beforehand.

Great! We want to know more.

Do you ship out of state?

This is good, we'll have some options now. I know Genuine is prototyping some new exhausts right now...which I heard should be ready around the Fall.
...and we still might see that 200cc everyone was hoping for. I know I got a chance to see it (black prototype which looks just like the new black 150s). Although truthfully I'd like to see the 250 come here as well.

Did you get a chance to ride it?

from a guy that just got a Blur, I would certainly be interested in noise measurements - before and after with that exhaust.
Radio shack I think still sells a digital DB meter if you need to purchase one.
Gas mileage? before / after?
Any chance of a shield over the new pipe?
carb rejet? or mods?

Unfortunately, no... but I was told the low-end acceleration felt very simliar to the 150, but with higher top-end. I'd like to see how it accelerates past 50mph, since that's where the 150 acceleration curve seems to really start slowing down.

Thanks for the info, ScootOver... Everyone likes a *little* Spam now and then, if it's cooked properly. : )
Just a background note to everyone: MRP (who makes that pipe and presumably the other components) is Martin Racing Performance (Joel Martin was previously the US Malaguti importer). Your local shop may already carry their stuff (or could order it for you) though ScootOver seems to have figured out the proper Blur applications, which weren't listed in the latest MRP catalog I'd seen (this spring). And ScootOver posted here and your shop didn't, so maybe they're worth your patronage. : )
This has been said many times, but just remember that these bikes were carefully engineered for reliability and when you change one component in the system, it affects other components, so make sure you take a balanced and scientific approach to upgrading rather than "ooh, shiny! bolt it on!"

beelzebubbles:
With lighter roller weights/racing clutch and the MRP pipe there is significant low end acceleration vs. stock. If desired, more top end could be achieved through using heavier weights.
BlueMark:
Shipping out of state is not a problem.
bicyclerider:
Mufflers come with insertable baffle. Leaving it in will reduce sound. Taking it out increases sound, but not by much. Both ways are within legal ranges.
360:
The pipe offers a more broad throttle response WITH proper jetting. However, if you are looking for more acceleration on either end of the band, you need to use proper weights, as specified above (lighter=quicker off the line with less top speed, and heavier would be less acceleration off the line, but more high end acceleration and top speed).
Illinoise:
Yes, the mufflers are MRP. But, we make the header pipe you'll need to mount it to your Blur. MRP does not offer this header pipe. We have many test miles on our Blur, and the components appear to be in good shape, and within spec.
We don't wish to step on your local shop's toes, so if they would like to contact us about the upgrades, please have them do so. Our phone number is 520-323-9090. Our mechanic does not have a bunch of time to spend on the computer, so he would appreciate calls whenever possible instead of posts here or emails.

Looks like MRP has a new performance exhaust w/ header for the Blur:
MRP Blur 150 Exhaust - G-Max 150 Racing Exhaust #27349 which we should be able to order through our dealers.

PGO also has an upgrade pipe for the 125, and as long as your dealer does the work, your warranty is still intact.
