I'm just curious how these DR Pulley variator weights will effect the Blur. In principal it would seem that the lighter the weight the more rpm will be required for the belt to get up higher. But i'm not sure how much, maybe some one who has tried some various weights can comment?
I have ordered some 13.5 gram and 14 gram weights for my blur 220. I do a fair amount of freeway commuting so losing top end is going to be a good thing as I am running at about 7300 rpms on the freeway already. Gaining low end punch is of course welcomed, I just don't want the freeway rpms to be even higher...
Will cruising at the same speed give a higher rpm with lighter weights? meaning MPG lost?
Side note, how long is this motor going to last running at 7000 rpms for 30-40 minutes at a time? It seems to run fine, but I can imagine it can't be all that good for longevity.....
