A little sad to see it go, but these things happen.

Le sigh.

Congrats, I think! Local, I'm hoping. Shame shipping to CA was so costly.

Would you still have gone white and done the fender swap if you had to do it all over?

I could have gone either way on the color, honestly. I had an option for a brand-new Gunmetal one, and the white one which was a demo bike so I got a few bucks off when I bought it.

As for removing the big fender and re-shaping the the hugger - absolutely. I find the stock fender and hugger to be an abomination.

If I was going to do it over again on a Gunmetal Blur, I would reshape the hugger and either paint it bright yellow or possibly a dark blue - I think either color would look good, and then I'd match the color of LEDs in the headlight housing to the fender.

Possibly I'd re-paint the calipers to match as well, but that's a labor-intensive project. Now that I know how to do the hugger, even that wouldn't take that long - just the sanding and priming. The shaping would be easy.

I'd probably paint the center panel sections silver like DaveLHunter did, and maybe do an accent stripe or graphic in the same color, too.

Maybe. I dunno yet. I need to get settled in DC and figure out what I'm going to do. The next couple of months are going to be pretty steeped in transitional stuff.
