Just for my own edification, is the Blur's engine:
A) A fairly faithful GY6 copy/clone
B) A loosely done GY6 copy/clone
C) Neither of the above.
Thanks,
Charlie

It's a GY6 clone, not 100% copied from honda, but the design and engineering is similar. But all those gy6 performance parts you see online dont fit.

Thanks guys.
So far, it's not really a question of performance parts per se. More like future reference for semi-consumables such as oil seals, spacers, bushings, etc. Would much rather be able to source them independently than have to rely solely upon Genuine. Not that there's anything wrong with Genuine, but I always like to have a couple of alternatives when it comes to parts for anything that I own.

I think dealing with genuine is best, everyone makes their own copy of the gy6 engine, so other brands oil seals and parts will not fit onto your blur.

I can see what you're saying though...
PGO should be around for a long time, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, there will always be SOMEONE hoarding parts and knowing where to get 'em. Just be glad you don't have an Italjet. : )

No worries. If push comes to shove, I've always got a lathe for rough-outs and a 3-pound drilling hammer for fine-tuning.
Thanks again,
Charlie

That's not exactly true. I have a Dr. Pulley variator, performance CDI unit, and high output coil installed in mine. I'm about to install a high performance clutch. The description for all did not specifically say "for PGO", just Chinese produced GY6. I've also been looking at a 30mm carburator and air filter that I know will work.
Of course I'm not saying everything you see on-line for GY6 will fit, but there are some.

I was speaking in general, I know those parts fit and work fine, but most of the stuff you find dont work or fit.

the blurs/gmax engine is perfect...though there are history of weak crankshaft which ended up breaking before 10,000 kms..[i didnt mean a lot..but it can call your attention for a moment]
based on experience and information regarding some of the gmax owners that i know....if you go beyond 10k then you can breathe better [though you must consider it might still break due to wear or tear or manner of use]
the quality build of the gmax engine is excellent...if there would be problems when it comes to after market parts...then it has more to do with aftersales service whoever is the local distributor there...
..i may also add how good is the logistics is supplying the local dealers /distributors the parts...
and the problem when it comes buying online sometimes are:
..for a cheap parts..you ended paying for the postage twice the cost
..you cant be so sure unless you had seen the product
..what if person you are talking to doesnt know what hes talking about...and can only say.."yes it will fit perfectly"
.. the voice on the other line would say "sorry out of stock"
